What kind of role do SMEs play in Burma and how are they doing? More tourists are finding their way to Burma, is that necessarily good? A new report shows Burma has a long way to go in terms of that succesful implementation of the law.

Small and Medium Entreprises (SME) are key to the development of any economy and this is no different in Burma. In order for more people in Burma to create a better livelihood for themselves, SMEs  need to nurtured and developed. Many SMEs can be found in Burma’s tourist industry and although this segment is growing, local companies are starting to face stiff competition from international players. Travellers are used to using online tools to make travel decisions and the examples of Thailand and the Philllipines have shown what impact this can have on the ‚little man‘.
